Becoming

Been the girl who danced through her nani’s halls,

bubbly, brilliant, loved—

before the world taught what silence felt like.

Been the one who feared water,

feared mirrors,

feared being too much and never enough—

and still, showed up.

the girl who writes poems like blueprints,

who stitches her wounds into wisdom,

who names her ghosts but does not bow to them.

on my way to becoming

the woman my younger self drew in dreams—

a force with softness,

a storm with purpose,

a future that arrives like sunrise, slow but unstoppable.
